ivy bakery: cupcake mania!

Ivy Bakery owner, Daniellan Louie, invited me to witness the bakery’s 2nd annual cupcake eating contest which was also in conjunction with the 3rd anniversary of the bakery’s storefront operation. the challenge? winner eats 24 cupcakes in 12 minutes or the most in 12 minutes. the winner, Brian Pham of the Food Bank for NYC downed 19 double chocolate cupcakes in 12 minutes – quite an impressive feat! judges included blogger Nichelle Stephens of Cupcakes Take the Cake and last year’s contest winner Nancy Cummings…

the day proved not only to be beautiful but the first I’ve ever witnessed of a cupcake eating contest – talk about fun shooting. congrats Ivy Bakery, best wishes for continued success!

sylva+peter: brooklyn bridge love

spent a lovely august sunday in shooting super fun couple sylva & peter in dumbo’s brooklyn bridge park. acquiescing to my requests of using hula-hoops, “love” candles and wax lips for props – we got some great shots of the awesome couple and soju, their camera-shy rescue dog!

duolan+joshua: park dreamy

after a mass email to my friends asking who would be willing to play model to my photography, i received a response from duolan who was hoping to do some portraits with her soon-to-be hubby joshua.

it was a lovely spring day and we decided to play around in brooklyn botanical gardens in prospect park. not only are they amazingly good-looking but they were naturals in front of the camera – it was pretty easy to capture moments of love, playfulness and adoration…
